Lassiter Basketball Takes Home Tournament Gold

Lassiter’s boys and girls basketball teams both brought emerged victorious in their holiday tournaments over the holiday break, with the boys winning the Pickens Holiday Classic and the girls taking home the gold in the Fellowship Holiday Classic.

Boys took down Gilmer 76-63 in the quarterfinals behind Noah Grigsby and Harper Kirby’s 14 points each, beat Sonoraville 62-55 led by Cole Lewis’ 23 points, and eliminated Pickens 57-44 with 4 players in double digits. Lassiter boys improved to 4-9 with the tournament win.

Girls hoops beat Prince Avenue Christian 63-38 with Sophie Hortman leading all scorers at 16 before winning the tournament vs Fellowship Christian 65-30 with Ryan Thames’ 19 points on 9-17 shooting. The Lady Trojans went to 11-1 with the tournament win, the best 12-game start in program history.
