Lassiter’s Clutch Defense Helps Trojans Defeat Wheeler 16-10

By Aiden Mihill

Lassiter took home a road victory this week, defeating Wheeler 16-10 at Corky Kell Stadium. Star QB Bryson Harrison completed 9 of his 16 attempts for the Trojans, totaling 87 yards through the air. He added 50 yards on 14 carries to bolster an aggressive ground game, led by Sam Gadsden’s 84 yards and a score on 17 carries. Lassiter used their running game to their advantage, picking up a 10-0 lead after the first quarter, before Wheeler would battle back to a 16-10 game at half, where the score would stay.

Jaheem Murray once again was a force to be reckoned with on both sides of the ball, totaling 4 tackles, an interception and 2 pass deflections leading the defense at cornerback and running for 23 yards and a touchdown as a running back. This brings his tackle number to 16 on the season through just 2 games, putting him in the top 5 in the region.

Lassiter takes a bye week headed into Labor Day before taking on Woodstock away. Wheeler will go to South Cobb this Friday in a non-region matchup.
