Homecoming King and Queen

Emily Swindell, Staff Writer

In case you’ve been living under a rock, this year’s Homecoming King and Queen titles were awarded to Ansel Riedlinger and Fiona McLaughlin. This year we had many wonderful students on homecoming court. All very deserving of winning; however, Ansel and Fiona especially stood out to the student body. Ansel is the Lassiter mascot, one of our wonderful pep rally announcers, and has been on Homecoming Court three years running. Ansel is a joy to have in the Lassiter and well deserving of his Homecoming King title. Ansel stated, “It’s a tremendous honor and it’s still so heartwarming to think about. I really didn’t think I was going to win so when they announced it, I didn’t really know how to react.” Homecoming Queen winner Fiona McLaughlin is Lassiter’s other enthusiastic pep rally announcer, is involved in Lassiter sports, and is an excellent choice to represent Lassiter as Homecoming Queen. We are very excited for both Ansel and Fiona and are thrilled to have such amazing people at our school.
